What is a Supply Chain?

A supply chain is a way for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) to track their suppliers. Some cyberattacks against your organization may originate from vulnerabilities associated with third-party vendors within your supply chain. The purpose of monitoring the supply chain is to assess the risks related to these vendors or third-party partners, such as a client's accounting firm. This feature allows partners to view compromises related to third-party companies from the last 90 days. However, please note that passwords and Personal Identifying Information (PII), such as dates of birth, Social Security numbers, and addresses, will not be displayed—only compromised email addresses.

For example, if your customer purchases supplies from widgets.com, they might want to monitor any reported breaches from the email domain widgets.com. This would allow them to know, for instance, if order@widgets.com has been compromised. Consequently, the client can decide to refrain from ordering from widgets.com until they have validated the information with their sales representative.

Once Supply Chain monitoring is enabled for an organization, it generates a static "compromise" report for those domains. This means that instead of Managed Service Providers (MSPs) consuming live searches for suppliers, we have developed this function to continuously monitor these suppliers.
